What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?
A comprehensive, thoughtful, kind, and well executed solution to creating better health for persons experiencing homelessness.
What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?
I am not sure it is a secret, but it has to be its people.
What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?
Break down the barriers that exist between those living in the city and those in the county. We all want a happy and healthy community, and need to work together to that end putting differences aside.
What is your favorite Knoxville memory?
Being born and raised in Knoxville, I have had so many great memories in almost every part of the city. My earliest memories were staying with my grandparents on Sevier Avenue. My grandmother did not drive, so we would to take a bus from her house over the Gay Street bridge and into downtown. The ride over the bridge was always thrilling. We would eat at the diner and shop in the department stores before making the return trip. That couple of miles always seemed like a grand adventure.
What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?
On my nightstand - Broken Money, The Infinite Game, Higher Ground
What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?
When you want to quit, just keep moving"- My father
What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?
Three things: Always strive to be the best version of yourself; Failure is temporary, move on; Never look beyond the person in need.
