What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?
My vision for Knoxville 10 years from now is a city that continues to grow while staying true to its community-centered roots. I see Knoxville as a place where families thrive - with safe neighborhoods, strong schools, and accessible parks and greenways in every part of the city. The outdoor lifestyle that defines East Tennessee will be more celebrated than ever, with even greater access to the rivers, trails, and mountains that surround us.
What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?
The great food and breweries!
What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?
I would focus on building stronger connections between our local communities and the businesses that support them. That starts with investing in small businesses - the backbone of our local economy - through easier access to resources, mentorship, and streamlined permitting. Supporting entrepreneurs and attracting new industries will help create quality jobs and long-term economic growth.
What is your favorite Knoxville memory?
Saturdays in the fall!! The pageantry of UT football is like no other.
What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?
The Bible and Rich Dad, Poor Dad
What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?
Always be transparent and honest and with hard work you can do anything. Fred Worley
What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?
Enjoy every minute you have and dont sweat the small stuff.
