What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?

Attract a variety of employers to increase and improve opportunities at all socio-economic levels.

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

A photo of a friend and me (a pair of 10 year olds) volunteering at the American Cancer Society's showing of Shine on Harvest Moon at the Tennessee Theater in August of 1978 appeared on page A-6 of the Knoxville News Sentinel.

What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?

Beloved, Toni Morrison

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

Dr. Ruth Darling - Always have contingency plans; prepare for different scenarios, including the worst ones.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

Figure out what brings you joy and then learn how people make a living doing that.
