What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?
A more diverse, safe, and welcoming city with strong schools, better transit, thriving arts, and global recognition as a destination for culture, education, and opportunity.
What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?
Its quality of life, rich history, vibrant food and arts scene, strong philanthropy, and the major role Palestinian Americans have played in its growth.
What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?
Unify local government, boost civic engagement, support teachers, improve health and justice systems, and build a city where all ages and backgrounds can thrive.
What is your favorite Knoxville memory?
Growing up at my parents' Fort Sanders businesses, spending days at the 1982 World's Fair, and even meeting Van Halen there with my sister and cousins.
What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?
On my nightstand: "The Year of Yes" by Shonda Rhimes and "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid" by President Jimmy Carter.
What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?
My parents taught me pride in my culture, generosity, and fighting for justice. Maya Angelou's words guide me: "When you know better, do better."

Invest in Apple! Appreciate family, know your worth, be kinder to yourself, and make meditation and yoga a daily practice.
