I hope we embrace our season of growth to allow the acceptance of new opportunities. We are well positioned for cultural and economic advancement, and our intentional decisions over the next 10 years can have a lasting impact for generations to come.

Knoxville itself, though it seems the secret is out. Having grown up around the world in a military family, I believe the model nonprofits, excellent schools, and lovely people here create a rich community that is the perfect place to plant roots.

As Knoxville grows, those of us who have lived here for a while are in a great position to welcome new arrivals. By proactively connecting our neighbors to our community and to one another, we strengthen both Knoxville and our own roles within it.

I have been reading "Table for Two" by Amor Towles in ten minute increments on the front porch for quite some time.

"Anything worth doing is worth doing well!" is a phrase ingrained in my mind in my mother's voice. To call her a mentor is an understatement, and being able to carry her voice with me is a true privilege.
