What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?

In the next decade, Knoxville will become America's "best place to live," drawing college students, Fortune 500 companies, and retirees alike. We will continue to enhance our city experiences, responsible growth and opportunities while preserving our small-town charm. By focusing on innovation and preserving our history, Knoxville will remain one of the best places to call home.

What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?

The best kept secret about Knoxville is that the first Tennessee constitution was drafted here, and Knoxville was the state's first capitol city. The best kept secret place to visit today is the UT Creamery.

What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?

To ensure our future success, we must prioritize ongoing infrastructure investments, foster a business-friendly environment to attract corporate relocations, improve retention rates among trade, undergraduate, and graduate students, and fully utilize the numerous non-profit entities in our area.

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

My favorite Knoxville memory is welcoming my kids to our new home for the first time. They were so excited to see the outdoor beauty that surrounds us. A close second favorite was announcing the Pilot and UT Athletics preservation partnership, and unveiling the logo at Neyland Stadium.

What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?

My favorite of this year is On Fire by John O'Leary

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

An early leadership mentor always said to give yourself a seat at the table. Give yourself permission to have a voice, to lean in, and create opportunities for progress.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

I wish I could advise my younger self to slow down and enjoy the ride.
