What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?

I will love to see Knoxville continue to grow at a steady pace while maintaining its character. I would like see Knoxville continue to be a wonderful place to raise a family, while welcoming and supporting new businesses to the area.

What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?

Knoxville's Urban Wilderness. While it is well publicized, I am not sure it is utilized by many locals as much as it could be.

What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?

Continue to support schools, recreation, and infrastructure. Being a great place to live and raise a family attracts talent, which supports business and the economy.

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

There are several. Tailgating with the family at UT football games, going to Swensens to get Ice Cream as a child, early mornings watching my children play youth sports.

What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?

I have always been a fan of Tom Clancy. I still read the series even though it is by different authors now. I recently finished the latest one, Act of Defiance.

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

Do your best to treat everyone fairly and with respect. My father.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

Enjoy EVERY phase of life. Each is different, but they all have something to savor.
