What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?
Ten years from now, I want Knoxville to be known as a city that invests in its people, builds responsibly, and creates spaces that connect us - across neighborhoods, generations, and backgrounds.
What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?
Knoxville's best kept secret is that we don't really have to leave Knoxville to have it all! We have fantastic food, great music, fun sports and our beautiful mountains all right here.
What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?
We should maintain our focus on high-quality public education, nurture and expand our arts community, and continue to create an inviting atmosphere for entrepreneurs to thrive.
What is your favorite Knoxville memory?
My parents attended the University of Tennessee, my brother and I are alumni and now, two of my children are attending UT. All gamedays with my family hold many wonderful memories for me, but the third Saturday in October in 2022 when we beat Bama definitely tops the list!
What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?
I'm currently reading Traction by Gino Wickman.
What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?
When I started my first company when I was 29, my father advised me to surround myself with the most talented and skilled people possible and then get out of their way.
What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?
To always trust my gut instinct and to understand that being clear is a kindness.
