What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?

Knoxville will be a vibrant, resilient, and inviting community with collaboration as the cornerstone for celebrating successes, addressing challenges, and seeking opportunities.

What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?

Knoxville has a high quality of life for diverse interests and is strategically positioned for access to many amenities both locally and within a short drive. But it is the people make Knoxville great.

What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?

Building on current momentum, I would work to advance Knoxville through sustainable growth that retains the special character of our city while supporting both those who have been here for many years and those wanting to come to Knoxville because it is a great place to live, work and play.

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

So many! It is hard to surpass Booms Day on the boat overnight in the middle of the Tennessee River. Knoxville was truly on full display and that event brought everyone together. However, recently the downtown parade for the Vols Baseball team who won the National Championship was pretty epic in a very different sort of way. My husband and I on the deck at our first house the first night looking at the stars and talking about our future.

What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?

Current - Leadership on the Line

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

A former boss told me to Be Present. If you are going to be there, be all in. It is the most respectful thing you can do for others, and generally, you will find a benefit if you are looking.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

Focus on learning what is important to you. Comparing yourself to others is pointless as there is no other you. Everyone makes mistakes - EVERYONE! Go, Go, Go! Do all the things. Try all the things. Be all the things.
