What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?
Knoxville is still the best area to build a life either independently or with family. Many options are available to grow professionally and to grow unique personal interests. The list is endless of what Knoxvillians can be exposed to by various cultural activities, community involvements, sporting events, educational opportunities, and even small regional events.
What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?
Knoxville is the Best all-around city to live in and work in due to its small town feel but big city opportunities.
What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?
Knoxville is growing very quickly and has challenged long-time Knoxville residents with high real estate values that make it challenging to navigate finding new homes to call home. A few reasons may be due to competition from newly relocated people moving to Knoxville and to locals wanting to upgrade or downsize from their current homes. Ideally, finding ways to stabilize the real estate market for all would only help to solidify Knoxville as being the best place to call home.
What is your favorite Knoxville memory?
My favorite Knoxville memory is of Boom's Day weekends. I was in college, living on campus by the waterfront. My location was ideal for hosting the best gatherings to watch fireworks and celebrate the city at its best!
What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?
"Unreasonable Hospitality" or "Who Moved My Cheese"
What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?
"Do what you love and money (and everything else) will come to you", my father
What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?
I would tell myself to not be afraid, to follow your heart, take risks, and know that hard work does pay off!
