What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?
A vibrant community where everyone can thrive built on a foundation of affordable homeownership, safe neighborhoods, strong businesses, and a sense of belonging that fosters vested individuals working together to shape a resilient future for all.
What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?
The diversity and amount of local farmers and availability of fresh farm to table foods.
What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?
Invest in youth and faith-based services, and foster strong businesses to support an economy where homeownership can be achieved by anyone.
What is your favorite Knoxville memory?
The 1982 World's Fair
What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?
Practicing the Way by Comer (nightstand)
What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?
Every question can be answered in five sentences or less. At the end of five sentences, stop talking; you've already answered the question or you're not going to. Heidi Barcus taught me that as my law partner.
What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?
Trust other people more. Be kind to yourself, and ask for help when you need it. Surround yourself with people who challenge and support you. Your mistakes don't define who you are.
