What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?
I envision Knoxville to be a thriving community, with premier education, health care and economic opportunities that improve the quality of life for every resident. I see a city that continues to grow while preserving the character and values that make Knoxville unique. Our neighborhoods are safe and vibrant, our infrastructure supports sustainable growth, and businesses of all sizes have the resources they need to succeed.
What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?
Knoxville's best kept secret is our people. What makes this city special isn't just its beautiful setting or growing economy; it's the genuine spirit of generosity and collaboration that defines the people who call Knoxville home. There is a true sense of community that is the foundation of our city. It's reflected in the way neighbors support one another, businesses invest locally, and people step up to serve. That spirit is what makes Knoxville such a special place to live, work, and build a future.
What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?
To strengthen Knoxville, we must continue to invest in what makes our city successful - our people. That means supporting quality education, expanding access to healthcare, strengthening public safety, encouraging local businesses, and investing in programs that create opportunities for individuals and families to thrive. Strong communities are built through shared investment. When we give back—through our time, resources, and leadership—we create a stronger, more connected Knoxville. Every resident has a role to play, and together we are the heart of this community. By investing in one another, we ensure Knoxville continues to grow while remaining a place where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?
I'm currently reading The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins
What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?
Be kind. Everyone experiences "hard" in our lives - everyone's hard is different, and everyone's hard comes at different stages. We may not always see what others are going through, but we can always choose kindness. - My mom
What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?
Dream big. Love hard. Live life to the fullest!
