What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?

In 10 years, I envision a flourishing community where residents collaborate to ensure inclusivity and support for all. This community, while retaining the charm and hospitality of a small southern town, will also offer the cultural richness of a mid-sized city. Amenities and resources will be evenly distributed, ensuring no area is underserved. Visitors and locals alike will experience a warm, welcoming environment rich with diverse cultural attractions.

What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?

Knoxville has some of the most amazing, amazingly breathtaking views. Additionally, the airport is a breath of fresh air, not too large and not too small. In the immortal words of Goldie-locks, "it's just right." (LOL).

What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?

Encourage businesses and faith based organizations to work together and pool resources to provide support for disadvantaged and youth. Find more effective ways to ensure available resources reach those who need and would benefit from them most. Work to gain better collaboration between medical institutions for record sharing.

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

As I child, I remember traveling to Mechanicsville and Lonsdale with my with Grandfather to sell/ give away vegetables from the back of his truck. He was happy to do it, and the people were appreciative of his bringing fresh produce to them.

What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?

The Emotionally Healthy Woman

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

General R. Scott Dingle ... understand who's in the room and learn to communicate effectively to gain consensus. I'm still working on this one.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

Don't hide who you are to make others feel more comfortable, be who God created you to be. The second thing would be its ok to ask for help. You'd be surprised by the willingness of others to help you succeed.
