What is your vision for Knoxville 10 years from now?

I want my children to tell me they love where they live - they'll be pre-teens and teenagers by then!

What is Knoxville's Best Kept Secret?

Martha's cuban sandwich at Bistro at the Bijou because she loves mustard and pickles as much as I do.

What would you do to strengthen Knoxville?

I don't know what I could personally do other than keep preaching the good word!! I look back on my teenage years and wonder why none of my teachers or college counselors told me it was okay to stay in Knoxville after high school. everyone pressured us to move on to go to out of state college. If I could I would tell every high school student to stay in Knoxville to continue their education whether that be UT, community college, trade school, or just work and play. It's the best place to live!! Knoxville has to figure out a way to attract and retain young professionals. It's definitely better than it used to be but always room to improve.

What is your favorite Knoxville memory?

What is your favorite book or what book is currently on your nightstand?

Just finished The Mad Wife by Meagan Church last night. My next book is Life & Death & Giants by Ron Rindo

What is the best advice you have received from a mentor, and who was that mentor?

"Act like somebody" - my dad George Sampson; he would always tell us this as kids when he wanted to remind us to act with integrity, tell the truth, do the right thing. Coincidentally, he would remind us AS we were not acting with integrity, telling the truth, or doing the right thing... but i digress. Teenagers...psssht.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self?

Don't sign up for a facebook.
